Prelaw Learning Community
The Prelaw Learning Community is located on the 8th floors of Chitwood & Weymouth Residence Halls and is open to all students planning to attend law school after their undergraduate studies, including registered participants in the TTU Prelaw Program through the TTU Advising Center.
The Prelaw Learning Community provides a unique experience for future law students to live together in an environment supporting their academic, personal and professional success.
Students have opportunities to:
-
Learn about law school admissions requirements and processes and how to prepare
- Explore and apply principles of law through discussion and experiences
- Receive guidance from upperclass students
- Cultivate lasting relationships with faculty and peers
- Attend specialized social and academic activities
- Create study groups and motivate each other to attend class, complete assignments and exchange ideas
First-time freshman students in the Prelaw Learning Community can also participate in a Freshman Interest Group (FIG), in which up to 20 students are enrolled in a common set of course sections during the Fall semester.

The Prelaw Learning Community contributes to Texas Tech University's Social Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, & Human Services Undergraduate Academic Interest Area, aligned with the Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security Plan of Study in the States' Career Clusters Initiative for lifelong learning.
