PEGASUS Learning Community
The PEGASUS Learning Community is located on the 6th floors of Chitwood & Weymouth Residence Halls and is open to all First Generation College (FGC) students (students whose parents or guardians have never been enrolled in college), including registered participants in the PEGASUS program through the TTU Advising Center.
The PEGASUS Learning Community provides a unique experience for First Generation College (FGC) students participating in the TTU Advising Center's PEGASUS Program to live together in an environment supporting their academic, personal and professional success.
Students have opportunities to:
- Identify common challenges for first-year students and those unique to First Generation College students
- Learn about campus and community resources and how they can be of support
- Receive guidance from upperclass students
- Cultivate lasting relationships with faculty and peers
- Attend specialized social and academic activities
- Create study groups and motivate each other to attend class, complete assignments and exchange ideas
First-time freshman students in the PEGASUS Learning Community can also participate in a Freshman Interest Group (FIG), in which up to 20 students are enrolled in a common set of course sections during the Fall semester.
