DISCOVERY! Learning Community
The DISCOVERY! Learning Community is located on the 4th floors of Chitwood & Weymouth Residence Halls and is open to students who have not yet selected an academic major or are interested in exploring their options, including students who are registered participants in the DISCOVERY! program through the TTU Advising Center.
The DISCOVERY! Learning Community provides a unique experience for student exploring majors and career opportunities to live together in an environment supporting their academic, personal and professional success.
Students have opportunities to:
-
Cultivate lasting relationships with faculty and peers
- Attend specialized social and academic activities
- Receive guidance from upperclass students
- Identify personal strengths, interests, and potential careers and academic fields
- Explore majors, minors, and campus involvement opportunities of interest
- Create study groups and motivate each other to attend class, complete assignments and exchange ideas
First-time freshman students in the DISCOVERY! Learning Community can also participate in a Freshman Interest Group (FIG), in which up to 20 students are enrolled in a common set of course sections during the Fall semester.
