Required Qualifications at Time of Hire
Required Qualifications for Continuing Texas Tech Students Prior to and Throughout Employment·
Successfully complete minimum 24 credit hours at Texas Tech University·
CA: Achieve and maintain minimum 2.25 GPA in semester GPA & minimum 2.50 TTU Cumulative GPA·
Lived in TTU housing for at least two semesters·
Good judicial standing
First Semester Transfer Students – the following requirements must be met to be eligible for hire:·
Successfully complete minimum 12 credit hours at Texas Tech University·
CA: Achieve and maintain minimum 2.50 TTU Cumulative GPA and a 2.25 semester GPA
Lived in TTU housing or equivalent residential community for at least two semesters, at least one at TTU
Candidates must submit documentation from previous institution(s) stating time spent in housing and having been in good judicial/administrative standing at time of departure·
Good judicial standing
Pre-Employment Workshops
As part of the application process to be a Community Advisor/Community Academic Mentor, students are invited to participate in 4 Pre-Employment Workshops. These workshops will assist you in developing leadership skills, confrontation and crisis management skills, as well as help you prepare for your Community Advisor interview.
These workshops are not required to go through the recruitment process but are highly encouraged.
Pre-Employment Workshops will start the week of October 19th. You will sign up for your workshop as part of your Community Advisor Application.
Pre Employment Workshops will be held during the following times for Spring 2010 Recruits.
Mondays - 4:00-5:30 pm (Dates: Oct. 19th & 26th Nov. 2nd & 9th)
Tuesdays - 6:00-7:30 pm (Dates: Oct. 20th & 27th Nov. 3rd & 10th)
Wednesdays - 7:30-9:00 pm (Dates: Oct. 21st & 28th Nov. 4th & 11th)
Thursdays - 5:30-7:00 pm (Dates: Oct. 22nd & 29th Nov. 5th & 12th)
Pre Employment Workshops for the 2010-2011 Recruits To Be Determined.
All Workshops will take place in the BA Room 153
How to Apply/Interview Process

Step 1: Log on with your eraider name and password
Step 2: Click on my account - update your profile, upload your resume and upload a coverletter answering the following questions:
Why do you want to be a CA?
What parts of the job interest you the most and/or the least?
Preference any interest in a Learning Community and why you are interested
Step 3: Click Job Postings
Step 4: Type in Job ID# 5305
Step 5: Click on Community Advisor
Step 6: Submit Resume
Interviews for the Community Advisor position will take place on Friday, November20th. You will sign up for your interview time as part of the application process. The interview will be approximately 2 hours long with a 40 minute individual interview and 2 group process activities.
Dress for the interview process is Business Casual. Make sure to arrive to your interview early to check in and to ensure the process runs smoothly.
Step 7: Go back to the housing website and print out CA Reference Form for a faculty or staff member to fill out and send back recommending you for the position. Reference Forms must be returned before November 20th to be considered.
